Detailing Your Car Like a Pro

If you've ever paid to have your car professionally detailed, then you know how expensive this service can be. As someone who cares deeply about my car and wants to maintain its value, I like to have my vehicle detailed on a regular basis. It wasn't until recently that I actually began detailing my own car. After buying all the supplies I needed, I was able to detail and wash my car just as thoroughly as the professionals for a fraction of the price. If you're interested in learning how to detail your own car, you've come to the right place!

3 Reasons To Start Washing Your Car Without Water

Lonnie Brown

A waterless car wash may seem like a humorous oxymoron to many people or even a downright impossible task to others. That said, waterless car washes have become increasingly popular with drivers looking for a quick, inexpensive and eco-friendly way to clean their cars. If you're someone who likes to keep the body of their car clean and is curious about the possible benefits of a waterless car wash, keep reading below for three of the biggest ones.

Efficiency

A waterless car wash has just two components: a chemical spray of choice used to trap dirt and dust, and a microfiber cloth to smoothly wipe it away. As long as your vehicle is only slightly dirty (no mud-caked trucks need to apply), you won't need anything else. That means no tangled hoses, old sponges, giant buckets of water, or even waiting around for your car to dry. After experiencing how quick and efficient a waterless car wash can be, it's hard to imagine a good reason for going back to doing things the old-fashioned way.

Cost

If you're someone who prefers taking their car to the local car wash, you're likely more than aware of how quickly prices can shoot up at a moment's notice, even without paying for additional detailing options. On the other hand, if you tend to wash your car in your driveway, it may be the case that you now have a corner of the garage overflowing with cleaning products you never thought you would need. Regardless of which camp you fall into, waterless car wash sprays are virtually always the more inexpensive option. Serious gearheads may feel the need to take their cleaning game to the next level, but for the vast majority of drivers, a quality clean that doesn't break the bank is ideal.

Going "Green"

Many advocates of waterless car washes point out that in addition to being more efficient and less expensive than traditional methods, it is also far better for the environment. The soapy water (inevitably mixed with other chemicals used in the cleaning process) too often runs down a driveway, into a sewer drain, and straight to the ocean. Some locales may have filtration systems that try to prevent this, but overall, a car wash without water is a much "greener", or more environmentally friendly, one. So even if you don't mind the extra money and time spent on a normal car wash, nearby ecosystems will thank you for going waterless.
